Session 2 Components of Industrial Engineering

The present batch of +120 strength has only 25 students of mechanical engineering. There are many students from IT stream. One of the students asked the question, there is lot of talk related to mechanical engineering. What about IT? What is the scope for IT persons in the IE discipline. I told him that I am trying to develop some ideas regarding role of IE in various engineering disciplines.

Industrial Engineering in Different Engineering Disciplines was already in development, as I gave the answer.

Industrial Engineering in Computer Engineering and Information Technology is one of the collections under the above theme. I updated it today (17.7.2011)with some more entries.

Session 7 - Predetermined Motion Time Systems

11.7.2011

Chapter 5.1 of Maynard's Handbook of Industrial Engineering, Work Measurement authored by Lawrence S. Aft is the base for this class. The chapter describes various systems of PMTS.

The objective of the class is to emphasize the popularirty of PMTS along with stop watch time study.

Came across the book Work measurement and methods improvement by Lawrence S. Aft, Wiley-IEEE, 2000 - 452 pages
